API Distribution Facility
Project Summary
This temperature controlled pharmaceutical sorting and distribution facility for Charter Hall's tenant API (Australian Pharmaceutical Industries), covers a gross floor area of 26,297m2 and has been designed to enhance their operating efficiencies.
Throughout the design phase, McNab worked closely with the client appointed, Austrian based company KNAPP, a leading Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) provider, to ensure the building design met the performance requirements of their impressive OSR ShuttleTM technology.
The facility includes high level security systems for staff safety and stock traceability and full insulated panelling to maintain the optimal 12oC required temperature, and a burnished super flat slab required for the automated guided vehicle systems (AGV's) driverless forklifts. A 4 Star Green Star target was set on this project, and was achieved through rainwater harvesting, solar power, water conserving fittings and fixtures, construction carbon embodied concrete, and recycling of construction waste.
