Overview
Located at the Port of Brisbane, the Electrolux Distribution and Experience Centre is a purpose-built 21,255 sqm distribution facility featuring an office and showroom, loading docks, logistics and inventory areas, repair workshop, and dedicated product demonstration and training spaces.
Designed and constructed with sustainability at its core, the building achieved a prestigious 6 Star Green Star rating, representing world-leading environmental performance.
Key initiatives include one of Queensland’s first mass timber office and showroom structures, constructed using Glu-Laminated and Cross-Laminated Timber (GLT/CLT) to reduce carbon, along with green concrete, energy-efficient systems and responsibly sourced and recycled materials to minimise waste and reduce the building’s overall environmental impact.
From the client
This project allowed us to implement sustainability initiatives that we’d previously trialed with McNab, on a broader scale. It was a partnership that allowed us to jointly design and deliver our first mass-timber structure – in the process setting a global benchmark for Electrolux’s Experience Centres.
Thanks to McNab’s unwavering support, commitment to quality, unrivalled workmanship and implementation of practical, real-world sustainability solutions, we have achieved an outcome for our customer that has surpassed all of our expectations.
